Journey into AI generated art

I’ve been diving into AI generated art for a few weeks now (just a wee babe!) and I gotta say I can’t remember the last time I had this much fun with art. Actually I can, but the different creative process, the building anticipation for the results, learning…all the things, refining, testing again and again, is so dang fun.

I’ll admit I was skeptical for a long time about the whole AI art thing, but the results are something else. The first piece I got back from #discodiffusion made me a believer. Before actually putting in the research and doing it, it felt like cheating to create art on the shoulders of hundreds of years of masterful artists. But this has opened up a whole new way of making art and I've hardly scratched the surface. Like not even nicked it.

So far I’ve tested:
Disco Diffusion
NVIDIA Canvas
Wombo Dream
StarryAI

with more tests coming.

Disco Diffusion is definitely my favorite for its power, flexibility and control. I like NVIDIA Canvas for its more traditional creation workflow and the near-instant feedback and results. Wombo Dream and StarryAI are alright, but as iPhone apps, they bring a mobile component to the game and are the easiest to just start doing it.

If you really want to try out this AI art thing and either haven’t a clue how or are intimidated by it all, start with Wombo Dream or StarryAI. They’re free to get started and easy to use. #art #creative #ai #aiart #learning
